Get your voice heard and have your say!

We believe that student representation is essential in all areas of College life. It is important to us that you feel involved and consulted every step of the way in your learning journey. The Student Executive and Students’ Union are excellent vehicles to help you be heard, so you can have your say and play your part in making your time with us even more interesting and fun.

Student Executive

Any AS student can apply to become a member of the Student Executive. There are 14 official positions, from Sports Officer to Secretary, each with different responsibilities. Elections are held once a year, with each member voted in by other students.

As a member you will help to plan college events, decide on charities for student fundraising activities, support nationwide fundraisers such as Red Nose Day and Children in Need, work closely with members of staff on college-wide projects, start up a specialist club or support existing College societies.

If you relish the chance to improve your communication skills by speaking for your friends and peers at a level which makes a real difference, then becoming a member of the Student Executive is for you!

Students' Union

Any student on a course of more than 10 weeks is automatically a member of the Students’ Union. It’s the brains behind all student events and trips, so it really pays to be involved!
Previous students have enjoyed trips to theme parks, freshers’ fairs, Karaoke, BBQs, weekends away and charity fundraising.

Clubs and Societies

Entirely student devised and led, clubs and societies to participate in include:

  • Science Society
  • Vocal Group
  • Debating Society
  • Extension English (Book Club)

There’s a wide range of trips linked to your programme of study including foreign exchange visits (Languages), biennial USA trip (Humanities), European city visits (Travel and Tourism), day trips to landmarks including Windsor Castle, Tate Modern and London Zoo, plus Performing Arts trips and work placements for vocational subjects.

Sports Activities

At the Sixth Form Haywards Heath, we have extensive sports provision on and off-site, with a brand new four-court sports hall and sports clubs utilising the first-class facilities including football and UItimate Frisbee® teams. There are plans to create a games field with football and rugby pitches and netball and tennis courts.
