Information and Learning Technology
Central
Sussex College’s Haywards Heath campus has over 350 networked computers
for student use, making the ratio of students to computers 3:1 - something
we are very proud of!
Using computers will be a key part of your college learning experience. Extensive classroom IT facilities exist in a number of subjects such as Computing, IT, Leisure and Tourism, Business, Art and Media; our policy of continually updating equipment and systems ensures that you always have access to up-to-the-minute technology.
The College Intranet provides material to support your studies. For example, self-study modules are available in a variety of subjects and you can work through course notes, use multiple-choice tests and submit work for marking. Through the network there is also access to the Internet for further research.
The Learning Centre
The
Learning Centre at Haywards Heath campus provides computers, colour photocopier,
colour scanning, laser and colour printing facilities and access to the
Internet – all that you need to produce top quality assignments
and projects.
The Learning Centre is also where you should go if you want additional
help with Key Skills or subject-related skills. Staff based in the Centre
will give advice and guide you towards learning materials, which may be
on paper or databases. There are 60 computers available for use in the
Centre, and these enable you to:
- make use of computer-based learning software
- learn skills such as word-processing
- access the Internet or College Intranet
- produce coursework and print it out
Digital cameras, video cameras and tape recorders can also be booked for project work. View disability information for the LRC.
