Joining us

To apply for a place at Central Sussex College, Sixth Form Haywards Heath campus, you can use the application form in our Full-Time prospectus or apply online. Complete your application with the help of your school, and come along to one of our Open Evenings for expert advice and guidance and a chance to have a look at the facilities at the College.

1. September/October

You’re leaving school next year, so it’s time to start thinking about college.

If you are a student at one of our partner schools, we hope you will have the chance to see one of our presentations and read our prospectus. This is the time to think about your future and discuss your ideas with our schools liaison staff who will visit your school.

2. November

Come along to one of our Open Evenings. You will be able to visit curriculum areas, gather more detailed information about the subjects you are interested in, see the College facilities and meet the staff and students.

If you can’t get to one of our Open Evenings don’t forget you can get detailed course information from our website course listings, or call 01444 456281.

3. December

When you have decided on your initial subject choices, you should complete your application form. For our partner school students, this will be returned to us via your own school staff - otherwise please return it to us directly. You should do this immediately after the Open Evening, and by December at the latest to be sure of a place.

4. January/February or earlier

All applicants will have an initial interview. This is a consultation process during which we hope to offer you a place and construct your preliminary programme of courses based on your aspirations, strengths and needs.

5. March

We will send you a welcome pack and ask you to confirm that you are accepting your place at College.

6. July

We hope that you will visit us on our Introductory Day - a chance for you to familiarise yourself with the College and your chosen subjects. You will meet your Personal Tutor for the first time, as well as your fellow students.

7. August

Exam results time!

If you didn’t get quite what you expected, don’t worry! We can adjust your learning programme to ensure it’s at the right level for you when you come in to enrol next month!

8. September

With your results known, we will confirm or renegotiate your programme during your enrolment interview. Our aim is to ensure that you enrol on the programme that is right for you and gives you the best chance of success.

Congratulations! You are now a Central Sussex College student!
