Green light for final phase!
If you're thinking of joining Central Sussex College, you'll be one of the first to enjoy exciting new facilities at our sixth form campus in Haywards Heath
Phase 3
The final phase of the redevelopment of the College's Sixth Form Haywards Heath campus, in Harlands Road, commenced at the end of July 2011, after funding agency approval was secured following nearly three years of complex planning and negotiation.
This final phase is being solely funded by Central Sussex College, after government funding for the work was unexpectedly withdrawn two years ago, and at £16m represents a significant and long-term investment in the young people of Mid Sussex by the College.
The redevelopment of the Haywards Heath campus has been a key priority for Central Sussex College, since it was created in 2005. Through the first two phases of this £30m project (see details below), completed in 2008, we have been able to improve the student experience, broaden the curriculum on offer and increase capacity.
The new facilities will include: new science laboratories; many new classrooms including maths and IT rooms; a music suite; new learning resource and IT centre; four court sports hall; plus a new reception and food court area and significantly improved student social areas. The transformation of the campus will be completed during the 2012/13 academic year.

Phases 1 and 2
Forming part of a £30 million redevelopment, phases 1 and 2 are complete and have been open to students since 2008. The new performing arts and theatre space 'The Hub', with seating for 220, two rehearsal studios and two dance studios, provides superb facilities for performing arts, technical theatre, dance and music.
The development also features two digital language laboratories and a whole host of classrooms for teaching modern foreign languages, English and humanities subjects.
There are superb new visual arts studios for art, design and photography, including a dark room and digital photography room. New film and media classrooms and a state-of-the-art editing suite are also on offer.
