The course also provides a good grounding for a more advanced course such as a specialist BTEC National Programme relating to Moving Image, Print and Journalism or Multimedia.
The course is equivalent to four GCSEs grades A*-C

Some related work experience

The course consists of seven units:
Media Industry
Research for Media Production
Writing for the Media
Video Production
Photography
Animation
Advertising
Functional Skills of English, Maths and ICT.
Outcome of Course and Progression:
BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media Production with progression on to the BTEC Level 3 Certificate/Extended Diploma in Media Production
Cost:
16-18 year olds will not have to pay tuition fees, awarding body registration or exam fees. However they are required to pay for other third party costs, such as books, equipment and educational trips/visits.
Students aged over 19 on the 31st August in the year in which they start their studies, have to pay tuition fees. In addition they are expected to pay awarding body registration and exam fees, other third party costs, such as books, equipment and educational trips/visits.
Some students may be eligible for a fee concession, although in most cases some element of the fees will have to be paid.
Please note: Other costs (books, uniforms, trips, materials etc) will be £100.00
