Suitable For: This programme is designed to equip you with a sound knowledge of computer and communication technology and how these are used in today's world. You will gain skills in analysis, programming and the use of Information Technology, which will be of immediate use in the business environment.

Entry By: Interview

Entry Requirements:

Students will be at least 16 years of age and have either four GCSEs at grade A*-C, including Maths and English, a BTEC Level 2 Diploma for IT Practitioners with Merit or Distinction, or an equivalent qualification.

Course Content:

Over the two years, this course will allow students to develop skills in various areas of IT, eg:

Business
Systems Support
Software Development
Web development

Functional Skills, English, Maths and ICT

Outcome of Course and Progression:

BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary/ Extended Diploma in Information Technology

This course can help you move on to Higher Education such as the BTEC Higher National Diploma, or a degree course. You will achieve UCAS points on completion of the BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary/ Extended Diploma in Information Technology.

Cost:

16-18 year olds will not have to pay tuition fees, awarding body registration or exam fees. However they are required to pay for other third party costs, such as books, equipment and educational trips/visits.
Students aged over 19 on the 31st August in the year in which they start their studies, have to pay tuition fees. In addition they are expected to pay awarding body registration and exam fees, other third party costs, such as books, equipment and educational trips/visits.
Some students may be eligible for a fee concession, although in most cases some element of the fees will have to be paid.
Please note: Other costs (books, uniforms, trips, materials etc) will be £100.00
