This one year course offers you a broad-based introduction to business and a route into further education or employment.
It provides both the underpinning knowledge of business activity and opportunities for learners to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in working life.

Entry Requirements:
Minimum of 3 GCSE’s at grade D or above.
Course Content:
Whilst in College, you will study units, which will include the following topics:-
- Exploring Business Purposes
- Business Online
- Personal Selling
- Developing Customer Relations
- Finance
- People in Organisations
The course requires you to undertake a considerable amount of independent study under the guidance of your tutors.
During the course, you will also be working towards achieving Level 2 Functional Skills qualification in Communication or GCSE English, GCSE Maths and an ICT Qualification.
Time will also be spent in a work placement, which is a compulsory part of the course.

You will be assessed on the coursework you produce over the year and you will be graded Pass, Merit, Distinction or Distinction*
Outcome of Course and Progression:
On successful completion of the course you will be able to progress onto a BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma/Diploma in Business or may choose to enter employment.
Cost:
Educational trips will be offered to venues in London and local businesses, which will be related to coursework and therefore attendance will be required. However the college has a Discretionary fund to help towards these costs for students who may have difficulties making the payment.
