Suitable For: People who want a nationally recognised vocational qualification in order to pursue a career in one of the many areas of business, or to progress to a Higher National Diploma or a Degree.
Entry By: Interview
Entry Requirements:
You must be at least 16 years of age and have either a BTEC Level 2 qualification with consistently high grades or four GCSE's grade C or above, one of which should be English. You should also have proven ability in Maths.
There will also be an interview process to complete.
Course Content:
The course consists of vocational units to provide knowledge, experience and expertise in all areas of business. These will include:

Assessment:
The course is assessed by a range of methods including projects, assignments, case studies and coursework, which build into a portfolio of evidence. At times you will be working on projects alone and at other times in groups. Some work will require research outside of the college.
Outcome of Course and Progression:
BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma/Extended Diploma in Business is equivalent to 1 A Level for Subsidiary Diploma and 3 A Levels for the Extended.
Cost:
16-18 year olds will not have to pay tuition fees, awarding body registration or exam fees. However they are required to pay for other third party costs, such as books, equipment and educational trips/visits.
Students aged over 19 on the 31st August in the year in which they start their studies, have to pay tuition fees. In addition they are expected to pay awarding body registration and exam fees, other third party costs, such as books, equipment and educational trips/visits.
Some students may be eligible for a fee concession, although in most cases some element of the fees will have to be paid.
Please note: Other costs (books, uniforms, trips, materials etc) will be £100.00
