Entry Requirements:
Those wishing to enter this Level 3 course must satisfy the following entry
requirements:
•Aptitude and enthusiasm for fashion retail demonstrated by work experience in Fashion Retailers
•4 GCSE’s at grade c or above to include Maths and English grade C or equivalent
•Computerised keyboarding skills with a familiarity with standard software
packages or have a Level 2 Diploma in Fashion Retail
Course Content:
This qualification has been developed in association with the Fashion Retail
Academy London. It has a uniqueness over existing provision within this sector in that there is integrated learning through practical application and
academic activities.
The main outcomes of this qualification are to provide the learner with an understanding of:
The importance of strong leadership and motivational skills
Key Store Manager Roles and Responsibilities
?Departmental Relationships between Merchandising, Buying and Distribution
Design and Display techniques
?Evaluation of Personal and Professional Development, including Future Learning
Planning and Professional Practice.

Management Skills for Retail
Store Operations for Retail
Buying and Merchandising for Fashion Retail
Visual Merchandising for Successful Fashion Retail
Professional Development in Retail Management
Other Details:
Trips to retailers (such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Liberty, Selfridges and Dover Street Market), also fashion shows and master classes from industry specialists. In the final term students will be invited to go to Paris for 4 days/3 nights to visit fashion museums, trade shows etc.
Outcome of Course and Progression:
This is a 1 year intensive course. This course can help you progress to:
• Other Level 3 qualifications according to you future career/academic career plans.
• ?Employment on a management training programme within the retail sector
• ?New business start up or other employment
Cost:
16-18 year olds will not have to pay tuition fees, awarding body registration or exam fees. However they are required to pay for other third party costs, such as books, equipment and educational trips/visits.
Students aged over 19 on the 31st August in the year in which they start their studies, have to pay tuition fees. In addition they are expected to pay awarding body registration and exam fees, other third party costs, such as books, equipment and educational trips/visits.
Some students may be eligible for a fee concession, although in most cases some element of the fees will have to be paid.
Please note: Other costs (books, uniforms, trips, materials etc) will be £300.00
