Suitable For: Candidates who are working in an oral health environment and have considerable knowledge and skills in relation to dental equipment, instruments and materials and be able to work, under minimum supervision, as a key member of the oral healthcare team.

Entry Requirements:
This course is suitable for Dental nurses working in dental practises and requires support from a work place mentor. You will attend knowledge workshops at the college. There is an external assessment as well as your portfolio of evidence.
Course Content:
To achieve the Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing, learners must achieve 46 credits from the 15 mandatory units in addition to this, learners must achieve an overall pass in the written examination paper which is a synoptic test based on a short answer question questions and multiple choice covering the underpinning knowledge.
Outcome of Course and Progression:
QCF Diploma in Dental Nursing Level 3
Dental Nurses may also progress into other aspects of dental training like hygienists and therapists. Dental nurses who wish to progress into dentistry would have to complete an access course if they did not possess the requisite grades at advanced level.
