Suitable For: This course is suitable for apprentices or trainees with local airlines or aircraft engineering companies. On successful completion, candidates will be able to progress on to the Higher National Certificate/Diploma.

Entry Requirements:
GCSE grade C pass at Maths, Physics and English or BTEC First Diploma in Engineering. Mature entrants are also considered.
Course Content:
The BTEC Nationals in Aerospace Engineering offer progression opportunities within and into employment within the aircraft avionics, mechanical, manufacture and maintenance sectors and related industries. The qualification will also provide opportunities for progression to BTEC HNC, Foundation Degrees and other engineering HE courses or a full time degree in Aerospace Engineering
The BTEC National Certificate in Aerospace Engineering consists of four core units plus seven specialist units.

Assessment:
Some Units are assessed by assignments and others by assignments and end test
Outcome of Course and Progression:
The BTEC National Certificate in Aerospace Engineering is designed to equip individuals with the practical skills, knowledge and understanding required for success in the aircraft mechanical, avionic, manufacture and maintenance sectors. The qualification also enables progression to BTEC HNC or undergraduate degree qualifications and professional occupations in aerospace engineering and related fields.
This qualification will:
Develop a range of skills, knowledge and personal qualities essential for career development and progression within the aerospace engineering industry and related sectors
Provide learners with the necessary knowledge and skills concerning health, safety and welfare, the environment and sustainability within the aerospace engineering industries
