Specialist training for the retail sector

Employers and business owners in the Gatwick Diamond can benefit from a new skills centre right on their doorstep.

The Central South East Skills Shop is an innovative collaboration between Central Sussex College and two other colleges in Sussex to deliver advice, courses and business skills both on the high street and at each partnership college.

This government funded initiative aims to provide a focal point for retailers in the region to access independent and specialist business advice and opportunities for training. It will also be able to access any relevant funding to help you meet the costs involved with training your staff.

At the heart of the Retail Skills Shop's launch is the Mary Portas Guide to Successful Retailing, an inspirational programme aimed at shop owners and managers that want to see their business stay ahead of the competition in these tough economic times. Created by Skillsmart Retail in conjunction with the retail guru and television star Mary Portas, this programme covers every aspect of running a retail business. A series of seven masterclasses are delivered exclusively through the National Skills Academy for Retail's network of retail skill shops.
