Entry Requirements:
Applicants will need to achieve at least Level 1 within our basic skills test. Learners must have a aptitude for Plumbing. Entry onto an Advanced Apprenticeship is via progression from a completed Apprenticeship at Level 2.
Course Content:
Apprenticeship
The following mandatory units will be covered:-
- Hot & cold water systems, sanitation, maintenance, fault finding.
- Central Heating
- Installation of Bathroom suites and similar aspects of the industry
Advanced Apprenticeships:
The following mandatory units will be covered:-
- Design systems
- Systems
- Maintain effective operation of systems
- Maintain a safe working environment
- Quality development and improvement
- Commissioning & de-comissioning
- Install, service and maintain complex systems
- Maintain effective working relationships
- Water regulations
- Unvented systems
- Plus optional units in Gas
Other Details:
An Apprentice must be employed and have access to a range of work via their employer to enable completion of the NVQ.
Outcome of Course and Progression:
Successful learners will be awarded an Apprenticeship or Advanced Apprenticeship in Plumbing Studies.
Cost:
Fully funded for 16 - 18 year olds. Employer contribution for 19+ employees.
