Qualification: Apprenticeship: Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People's Workforce. This certificate combines both the knowledge and competence requirements.
Employers Responsibilities and Rights
Functional Skills in Maths and English at level 1.
Paediatric/Child Care First Aid qualification.

Advanced Apprenticeship: Level 3 diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce. The diploma combines both the knowledge and competence requirements.
Employers Responsibilities and Rights
Functional Skills in Maths and English at level 2.
Paediatric/Child Care First Aid qualification.

Duration: 1-2 years for each level.

Venue: Crawley Campus, College Road, Crawley West Sussex, RH10 1NR

Start Date: Flexible start dates for those employed in the child care sector.

Suitable For: People who work, or want to work in a supervised role with children aged between 0-16 in a childcare environment.
People who are interested in a career in Child Care.
Those who wish to progress on to Level 3.

Entry By: Interview

Entry Requirements:

You need to be at least 16 years old at the start of the course and have a genuine interest in working with children.

Enhanced CRB checks will be required before the start of the course.

Students should already be working in a childcare setting or be able to secure employment before the course commences.

Course Content:

The course will include child development, principles and values underpinning the Children's Care, Learning & Development sector, provision of safe and effective development and play and learning.

Cost:

If a CRB check is necessary, there will be a fee.
