Qualification:
To complete an apprenticeship qualification you must complete what is known as a frame work of qualifications as shown below.
Team Leading Apprenticeship
OCR NVQ Level 2 in Team Leading
Certificate in Team Leading
Key Skill level 2 Communication
Key Skill level 1 Application of Number
Duration: The course would take between 6 and12 months to complete.
Venue:
NVQs are based in the workplace with regular visits from your assessor.
Technical Certificates are taught in 10 week blocks, half a day a week at college and Key skills are each taught in 10 week blocks 1 day a week at the College or; if more suitable, these elements can be delivered in the workplace if required.

Suitable For: These qualifications are suitable for individuals who carry out a first line management or supervisory duties in the workplace, who also would like to improve their knowledge of team leading, application of number and communication. The NVQ is made up of both mandatory and optional units ensuring they are suitable for a variety of working environments.

Entry Requirements:
Initial assessment carried out in the workplace to assess suitability of job role, skills and experience in relation to the qualification.
Employed within a role where you are leading a group of people to complete tasks and duties with the support of your employer.
Course Content:
The NVQ in Team Leading aims to develop knowledge and understanding of this role in a business. Like all NVQs this qualification is competence based: this means that it is linked to the candidate’s job role and their ability to competently perform a range of tasks connected with their work.
Candidates plan a programme of development and assessment with their assessor and compile a portfolio of evidence to prove that they are competent and knowledgeable in their work role.
To achieve the NVQ candidates must complete four mandatory units and two optional units, see below;

Optional units are chosen with the assessor, candidate and employer to best suit the work situation, job role and development needs.
Outcome of Course and Progression:
Apprenticeship in Team Leading with possible progression onto NVQ Level 3 in Management.

Course Times/Timetable:
The initial assessment and induction both take place within the workplace and last about 1.5 hours each. Following this assessment visit will be booked monthly in advance taking into consideration employer and learner needs.
