Ladies' Hairdressing - Apprenticeship Level 2

Qualification: Apprenticeship – Level 2 NVQ diploma in Hairdressing, functional skills in English (L1) and Maths (L1).

Duration: 2 years.

Venue: Crawley Campus, College Road, Crawley West Sussex, RH10 1NR

Start Date: September

Suitable For: Employed individuals wishing to follow a career in the hairdressing industry and those seeking progression onto a higher level qualification – i.e. Level 3 NVQ diploma.

Entry Requirements:

Must be employed within a salon.

Course Content:

To have a successful career in Hairdressing you will need to start work within a salon and train towards becoming a stylist. You will need to gain both practical skills and a recognised qualification and an Apprenticeship will allow you to achieve both.

The Apprenticeship programme enables you to work towards a Nationally recognised Qualification.

Amongst others, the following units will be covered:

- Advise and consult with clients

- Shampoo and condition hair and scalp

- Set and dress hair

- Cut hair using basic techniques

- Change hair colour

- Health & safety

As well as working on the theoretical aspects of Hairdressing, you will be given the opportunity to participate in practical sessions which will lead to assessments for which you will be responsible for arranging models.

Outcome of Course and Progression:

Successful candidates will be awarded a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Hairdressing.

Cost:

This programme is fully funded for 16-18s, however there is an employer contribution for 19+ learners.

Candidates will need to supply their own tools and must wear protective clothing and suitable shoes in the Hairdressing Salon.
