Suitable For: Those working as Playworkers or Senior Playworkers who are responsible for supervising the team in the play setting, ensuring that policies and procedures are followed, and that a range of play opportunities are provided.
Entry By: Interview
Entry Requirements:
Candidates must be employed within a Play Work setting.
Enhanced CRB checks are required before the start of the Apprenticeship.
Course Content:
The Level 3 Diploma in Playwork (NVQ) contains the following mandatory units:
- Contribute to an organisational framework that reflects the needs and protects the rights of children and young people
- Develop and maintain a healthy, safe and secure play environment for children and young people
- Develop and promote positive relationships in the play environment
- Plan for and support children and young people’s self-directed play
There is also a wide range of optional units to suit candidates job roles.
The knowledge elements and Functional Skills content will be delivered via workshops in college.
Outcome of Course and Progression:
On successful completion of the course you will receive an overall Advanced Apprenticeship certificate as well as the competence and Functional Skills certificates.
On completion of the Advanced Apprenticeship in Playwork, Level 3 qualifications will allow candidates to become assistant managers and managers in play setting and be in charge of their qualified staff.
Cost:
If a CRB check is necessary, there will be a fee.
