Corporation Members - Sylvia Meli

Sylvia Meli has spent all her working life (apart from a year spent living in Rio, Brazil) as a Strategic Planning Director in leading creative advertising agencies in London.

She has extensive marketing communications experience with both UK and international accounts, developing brand building turnaround communications strategies for a cross section of clients including Mars, Proctor & Gamble, Dairy Crest, GlaxoSmithKline, Habitat, 3i, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Oracle, 3M, Nokia, Microsoft, IC24 and ShopSmart. Sylvia specialises in branding, integration and technology and has a Social Science degree and an MBA from Oxford.

Married to a Professor of Innovation at Sussex and Brighton Universities, Sylvia has two daughters. She was born to Swiss German immigrants who arrived in England in the 50's and has dual Swiss/British nationality. Sylvia was elected as the parent member of the Central Sussex College Corporation and took up her two year appointment on the 11th December 2006.
