About Us

Central Sussex College is a popular and highly successful further education college providing education to students aged 16+.

We have campuses across the picturesque county of Sussex, where we offer vocational and academic courses in a wide range of subject areas.

Accedited by the British Council / English UK

Founded in 1958, the Crawley campus has a large English Language Training Centre offering courses in all levels of English language plus English for academic purposes, University Foundation Language and Study Skills courses.

The tradition of teaching International students, particularly English as a foreign language, is well established at Central Sussex College - with over 350 non-EU students from over 45 countries already studying here. The College offers a wide mixture of cultures and nationalities - an important consideration when you are seeking to widen your knowledge and experience.

Our high standard of English Language training has gained us full accreditation by the British Council and full membership of English UK. Our staff are highly qualified, experienced and dedicated, and the College has Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) status in Care, Construction, Retail and in two Engineering areas.

Crawley

Picture of Crawley town centre.Crawley is a medium-sized modern, thriving town with 99,000 residents. There are excellent shopping, sporting, leisure and entertainment facilities all close to the College’s campus, which is located in the centre of town. The town’s range of restaurants, pubs and clubs also reflects its multicultural nature, with something for every taste and interest.

Crawley’s excellent leisure centre, K2 offers a wide range of sporting facilities including all weather floodlit athletics stadium and pitch, an Olympic size swimming pool, health and fitness suite, squash and tennis courts and much more. You can use the facilities on a casual basis or subscribe every month to become an ‘Ambassador’ member.

The Hawth Theatre not far from the College’s Crawley campus, has a good reputation throughout the region and boasts a mixture of entertainment from all around the world.

Haywards Heath

Haywards Heath has a population of 23,000 and is surrounded on all sides by lovely Sussex countryside. It has parks and gardens for walks as well as indoor facilities such as the Leisure Centre with a large sports hall, squash courts, fitness and health suites and swimming pool. The main shopping street runs through the centre of the town, with a mixture of individual shops and chain stores. It also has a wide range of restaurants covering many nationalities.

Picture of Sussex.Sussex is a picturesque county with many picturesque towns and villages within easy reach of our College’s campuses. There are a number of golf courses in the county, most of which offer lessons, and there are also a number of approved riding schools.

For those who enjoy walking and hiking, the South Downs are within easy reach and offer a unique view of the beautiful English countryside.

There are hundreds of historic castles, sites and buildings to visit in Sussex and its neighbouring counties, so it’s a great base from which to sample the diversity that is England.
