Qualifications
Foundation Year
Foundation year courses bridge the gap between an international student's own qualifications and the entry requirements for Higher Education (HE). They usually include English language and study skills support, and take 1 year to complete.
A Levels
'A' LEVELS are qualifications often taken by students who want to go to University. They usually take 2 years to complete, although after 1 year candidates recieve an AS qualification.
BTEC National Diploma
BTEC National Diplomas are 2 year courses equivalent to A level standard, which after 1 year result in an BTEC NATIONAL AWARD qualification. They are focused on the specialist knowledge needed for particular careers, are highly practical and give real work based skills that can be used in your chosen career or as a basis for entry to HE.
Higher National Diplomas /Foundation Degrees
Higher National Diplomas /Foundation Degrees are university level courses, usually equivalent to the first 2 years of a degree course. They are more vocational with a strong practical focus and work related projects. It is possible to continue for a further 1 or 2 years at University to obtain a full degree.
