Six students from Central Sussex College have joined forces with seven other Frisbee enthusiasts to create an Ultimate Frisbee team.

The students from the College's Sixth Form campus in Haywards Heath form part of the student-run team 'Strangers', a group of thirteen highly motivated young people who, off their own back, got themselves together, trained themselves to play extraordinary Frisbee and took themselves off to compete in the Ultimate British Junior Outdoor Championship on 21st and 22nd June.

Seeded 8th as outsiders, 'Strangers' saw off some tough competition in the early rounds of the championship from the competition's first seeds 'Ocelots', going on to land themselves a place in the final after beating Kent. After some excellent Frisbee in the final against 'Arctic', 'Strangers' unfortunately went on to lose the match on a sudden death point.

'Strangers', now the second best junior team in the country, walked away from the competition with their heads held high and for Central Sussex College students Harry Slinger Thompson and Ryan Tarascas the good news continued when they were selected to represent their country.

Harry, 17 from Lindfield who is currently studying Theatre Studies, Art, Photography and Film Studies at the Haywards Heath campus will be travelling to Slovakia with GB Juniors 2 to play in the European Championships and Ryan, 17 from Lindfield, who is studying A-Level Chemistry, Biology, Film Studies and Psychology has been chosen to represent Great Britain at the World Championships this summer in Vancover playing for GB Juniors 1.

Rose Ryan, Dance Subject Leader said "I am so proud we have students out there representing their country and I wish them every success".
