Psychology students from the Sixth Form Haywards Heath campus tested their limits by taking part in two hair-raising events designed to bring the psychological theories they have been studying to life.

Courageous second year A Level Psychology students visited what is reportedly Brighton's most haunted residence, Preston Manor. After taking a tour of the Manor's supernatural happenings, and hearing about the resident ghosts including Sister Agnes the medieval Nun, the White Lady and the elegant Lady in Grey, the group bravely explored the rest of the spooky pile by themselves.

Following this terrifying trip, Psychology AS Level students visited London Zoo for a workshop on phobias, linked to their work on Psychological abnormality and the treatments available. Students were met by esteemed Clinical Hypnotherapist, John Clifford, who spoke about the Zoo's spider-friendly programme, and carried out a group hypnosis session, culminating with staff and students getting to grips with a fully grown tarantula!
