Luck-key Jason Gander pictured with Central Sussex College’s Garry Blunt and the infamous key!

Lucky Central Sussex College student Jason Gander took a little bit of the Celebrity Big Brother House home last week after managing to grab the 'mystery key' thrown into the crowd during Lady Sovereign's eviction.

Jason and his partner Claire Downe, from Hassocks had travelled to the eviction night event at the Big Brother Studios in Borehamwood, on Monday 18 January, after having been given tickets by friends. The couple got more than they bargained for when feisty ex-housemate 'Sov' launched the large wooden key into the crowd below, narrowly avoiding serious injury! Claire recalled the moment, saying "She (Sov) looked at us and threw it over. It hit me on the nose and then fell on the floor, everyone was scrambling for it and I got it!"

Following the eviction, a massive search was launched in the national press and across the internet to locate the key, with Jason and Claire 'handing themselves in' shortly afterwards. The couple were then invited back to the Big Brother House on Thursday 21, where they enjoyed a tour of the Studios, were interviewed by CBBBi's Emma Willis, and took part in a re-enactment of the event, which can be seen on the Big Brother website.

Big Brother fans Jason and Claire, who are both backing Vinnie Jones to win the 2010 series, were allowed to keep the key in the end, and plan to sell it to the highest bidder after posting it on ebay. They were subsequently invited to appear as guests on 'Celebrity Big Brother's Little Brother' screened on Friday 22 January, to talk about their key-exploits!

Returning to his studies at the Burgess Hill campus the following day, Jason was happy to strike a pose with the now-famous object, alongside other Brickwork students and Course Co-ordinator Garry Blunt, who assured his colleagues that Jason 'would not let the fame go to his head!'
