Retiring Vice Principal of the Haywards Heath Sixth Form campus, Dr Alex Burford said, "I'd like to express my congratulations to all students and staff at the College, as they've worked extremely hard to achieve these results. College staff are immensely proud of their students' achievements and would like to wish them all every success for the future."
College Principal, Dr Russell Strutt said: "It is an exciting time for both our students and our staff. The redevelopment of the Haywards Heath campus has been a key priority for Central Sussex College, since it was created in 2005. When government funding support for phase 3 was unexpectedly removed as a result of the Learning and Skills Council capital crisis, it was a real blow. We have been working tirelessly since then to plan and agree, independently, the investment needed for this final phase of work. It has not been an easy process, but we are absolutely delighted that we are finally in a position to start work at the end of this month. I know everyone is really looking forward to the transformation of the campus being completed during the 2012/13 academic year."
