Burgess Hill’s Freshers’ a big success!

Students learn about motorcycle safety with Total Moto
Students on bricklaying and plumbing courses based at the Burgess Hill campus enjoyed a Freshers' event of their own when representatives from a number of local organisations visited the campus in Victoria Road during the first week of October.
Students were given the opportunity to have a free introduction to motorcycle instruction and training with Total Moto, motorcycle training, based in Burgess Hill. In addition to attending the event, Total Moto also are offering Central Sussex College students a discount on CBT training as long as they provide a student card.
The week also included a visit by Sgt Sam Rowley from the Army, who gave an informative talk on Army careers, a representative from Harlands Driving School, Haywards Heath also visited the campus to speak to students about road awareness and staying safe behind the wheel, and introduced their special offers for College students. Local Police Liaison Officer, PC Debbie Cummins, from Burgess Hill Police Station also attended, to introduce herself and explain to students what Police Liaison Officers can do to help them.
There are a number of additional informative visits planned for the remainder of the term at the Burgess Hill campus including: A visit from the Information Shop in Burgess Hill; West Sussex Fire Service delivering their Hard Hit presentation; College PCSO Tony Cook running ACT NOW sessions for Plumbing students; Workshops to help students stop smoking, Health screening, and advice from West Sussex County Council on tackling racism, prejudice, anti-social behaviour, and substance misuse.
