Bus Travel
Metrobus
Metrobus run a service in and around Crawley and offers discounted bus tickets to all learners living outside the Crawley area. Tickets and prices are available from Metrobus bus station, or visit www.metrobus.co.uk or call 01293 449191 for more information.
BUS4U
This is a new type of flexible bus service for everyone, which operates in Pulborough, Storrington, Bury, Petworth, Thakeham, Amberley and Brinsbury. The bus can pick you up and drop you off at a connecting station to Crawley, and you can book the journey and times you want. Call 01730 815518 for details.
Young Person’s Coach Card
This is available to everyone under 25, and mature learners over 25. It can save you up to 30% on most coach services including National Express, Jetlink and Flightlink. The card costs £9 for one year and £19 for three years. To get a Young Person’s Coach Card pick up an application form from any National Express agent and return it with your payment.

Train Travel
Season Tickets
All full-time students living in West Sussex can get a 34% discount on Rail Season Tickets (valid for travel at any time of the day) lasting at least one month.
To be eligible for a season ticket you must first apply for a Sussex Student Card - application forms are available from Student Services, any staffed railway station in West Sussex or via the School Transport website. Send your completed form to the address on the form - you are advised to accept the recorded delivery option. Once you have received the card with your student ID number printed on it, log onto www.southernrailway.com/further-ed to apply for the discounted season ticket. Young Person’s Railcard
These are available to anyone under 25, and can save you a third on most train journeys. The card costs £18 and lasts for 15 months. To obtain a Young Person’s Railcard, pick up an application form from any staffed railway station. Return the completed form along with two passport-sized photos, proof of age (eg. passport, driving licence, birth certificate or ISIC card) and your payment. Travel Grants
If you are under 19 years of age and you or your parents/carers are on a low income, you may be entitled to help with travel costs from the Local Education Authority. Students in West Sussex should contact the LEA on 01243 777100. Students from other counties should contact their local LEA.
